Shoreham Village believes the rights of residents must be protected and has developed the following as a guideline for residents, staff, volunteers and families.
- Residents have the right to be treated with dignity and respect at all times.
- Residents have the right to privacy and to communicate and/or visit with the persons of their choice, and to have care and/or treatment given in the absence of persons they do not wish to be present.

- Residents have the right to individual consideration of their needs, including physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.

- Residents have the right to be involved in decisions regarding their care, including the information required to make those decisions.
- Residents have the right to expect strict confidentiality of information regarding their health and personal records.
- Residents have the right to family/staff advocacy.
- Residents have the right to make choices in as many areas of their lives as possible, as long as those choices cause no harm to themselves or others.
